Monitoring Performance – establishing and monitoring relevant KPI’s and benchmarks
Mentoring of Engineers – mentoring of junior engineers and supporting of engineers with system architecture, technical discussions and problem-solving
Recruiting New Engineers – Interviewing, evaluating technical competency and cultural fit
Estimating – working with engineers to create new system and enhancement estimations
Training – identifying training requirements for individual engineers and managing corresponding training courses
Quality Monitoring – pro-actively establishing and monitoring best coding practises and addressing any breaches
Reviews – conducting code reviews of high impact stories
Performance Management – Pro-actively identifying poor performance and working with team members to improve
Line Management – Managing Engineer coverage, processing holiday requests and regular HR functions
Identifying and resolving impediments to keep the team working efficiently
Technical interface between clients, 3rd party vendors and the business
Identifying and Implementing new/changes to existing processes
Motivating and inspiring the team to keep them happy while they are delivering

Good knowledge/exposure to design patterns
Good knowledge/exposure to designing greenfield application architecture
Good knowledge/exposure to writing testable software
Minimum of 5 yrs UK exposure required
SQL (e.g. MSSQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle)
